 हम सभी देश के वरिष्ठ नागरिक, ईपीएस 95 पेंशनर हैं।

 भारत के 67 लाख ईपीएस 95 पेंशनर्स जिन्होंने रु.  417 / -, रु 541 / - और रु.1250/-  प्रति माह  30 से 35 वर्ष के सेवाकाल में पेंशन फंड में जमा करवाए, जिसका आज का मूल्य रु. 15 से 20 लाख है, वह सामाजिक सुरक्षा के लिए केवल 500 से 3000 रुपये पेंशन प्राप्त कर रहे हैं।

 दो वृद्ध लोगों के लिए इस राशि में सम्मानपूर्वक रहना बिल्कुल असंभव है।

 दिनांक  7.01.1996 को कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन ने एक अधिकृत विज्ञापन प्रकाशित किया था जिसमें कहा गया था कि ईपीएस 95 पेंशन सरकारी पेंशन से 10% या अधिक लाभदायक होगी।  साथ ही कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन ने हर तीन साल या उससे पहले मूल्य सूचकांक के साथ पेंशन का मूल्यांकन करने का वादा किया था. तब वादा किया गया था कि कर्मचारियों की पूंजी उनकी मृत्यु के बाद उनके नॉमिनी को वापस कर दी जाएगी.  हालांकि, कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन द्वारा किसी भी वादे का पालन नहीं किया गया.

 2008 में एकतरफा रूप से पूंजी पर प्रतिलाभ वापस ले लिया गया. 2014 में उन्होंने पेंशन की गणना के आधार 12 महिने औसत वेतन को 60 महीने के औसत वेतन में बदल दिया, जिससे पेंशन की राशि कम हो गई.

आपको अवगत कराना  है की हम ईपीएस 95 के पेंशनभोगी है जो राज्य सरकार के निगम, भारत सरकार के निगम एवं प्राइवेट अद्योगिक संस्थान के कर्मचारी रहे है, आज इस महगाई के समय मे भी पेंशन के रूप मे मात्र 300/= से 3000/= मात्र पाते है जो अपने नौकरी काल मे अपने बेतन से कटौती की गयी है!

बिगत 5 साल से राष्ट्रीय संघर्ष समिति मुख्यालय बुलढाणा ( महाराष्ट्र ) के बैनर तले माननीय कमांडर श्री अशोक राउत जी, राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष के नेतृत्व मे आंदोलनरत है दिनांक 4 मार्च 2020 को माननीय सांसद श्रीमती हेमामालनी जी नेतृत्व मे एक प्रतिनिधि मंडल माननीय प्रधानमंत्री जी से मुलाक़ात कर 67 लाख पेंशनर के दुर्दशा से अवगत कराया गया और अस्वासन भी प्राप्त हुवा पर अभी तक कोई कार्यवाही नहीं की गयी सरकार के तरफ से न कोई राहत ही दी गयी है!

*राष्ट्रीय संघर्ष समिति मुख्यालय बुलढाणा मे लगातार 891 दिन से अपने मांगो के समर्थन मे *क्रमिक अनसन चल रहा हैइसी के सपोर्ट मे **1जून 2021को एक दिवसीय देश व्यापी भूख हड़ताल करने का निर्यण लिया गया है*!जिसकी सूचना प्रत्येक सांसद को दी जानी है!

आदरणीय पेंशनर बंधुओं, 

              आप सभी को सादर अवगत करना हैं कि राष्ट्रीय संघर्ष समिति के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष मा० कमांडर श्री अशोक राउत जी के निर्देशानुसार पुनः एक बार केंद्र सरकार व मा०प्रधानमंत्री जी का ध्यान EPS-95 पेंशनरों की लम्बित माँगों को पूरा किये जाने हेतु दि०:01 जून 2021 को सभी EPS-95 पेंशनर्स देशव्यापी उपवास कार्यक्रम में यदि संभव हो सके तो पति-पत्नी दोनों ही अपने घरों में ही रहकर प्रातः 08.00 बजे से शाम 05.00 बजे तक उपवास रखे और यदि परिवार के सदस्य भी इस देशव्यापी उपवास कार्यक्रम में सहयोग एवम् सहभाग करें तो अति उत्तम होगा। 

इस उपवास  कार्यक्रम में शामिल सभी सदस्यों का उपवास के समय का सामूहिक फोटो अपने एंड्रॉयड मोबाइल फोन में खीच कर तथा जो अलग से संदेश पत्र भेजा जा रहा है उसे भी अपने मोबाइल फोन में लिखकर पत्र में नीचे जहाँ आपका लिखा हुआ है उसके नीचे अपना नाम लिखकर इसे भी फोटो सहित अपने - अपने क्षेत्र के सांसद महोदय के मोबाइल पर व्हाट्सएप के द्वारा अथवा  ई-मेल द्वारा अथवा दोनों पर भेजें और इसके साथ ही उक्त संदेश पत्र व फोटो दोनो ही मा० प्रधानमंत्री जी के कार्यालय के ई-मेल--connect@mygov.nic.in पर भी भेजने का कष्ट करें।

Respected Eps 95 Pensioners and working works Sir, Last time we had also done the same. Now we again with the honour of appointed new chief justice of supperim court, we humbly  requested that please look into the passed order by  honourable supprem court d/--04-10-2016. Said order is most important for the eps 95 pensioner's and working works bright future lives after retirement also and directives may will be applied  in Near future for amendments of eps 95 act. 

As per my knowledge Govt. is also waiting for early hearing sir, therefore I myself Prakash Pathak National General Secretary and legal adviser honourable shri Dada Zode both wrote a letter to with the honour of our honourable appointed new Chief justice S.C. 

Why I am sure about Govt's Intation, because since last few years not a single actions has been taken from respectabl Government on minium Pension also, because what order will be passed by honourable supprem court and then will see. Govt. having two reports one is Bhagtsing for amendment and second is high empowerd Committee for Minimum. Second Committee reconmded only Rs. 2000/- because at time salary was at the range of Rs. 5000, 6500 and 15000 With ceiling directed by Epfo and case is pending for high salary.

 Respected brothers and sisters,

 We all are aware about the indications we received regarding our demands getting approved by the Government in the last  budget session.

However,  it is clearly visible that  the obstacles due to the Corona epidemic and mainly due to the unjust behavior of the cruel EPFO we could not  achive our goal. 

 * We all, including our leaders, have done the great job of conveying the voice of pensioners and the truthful views to the Government and to all the concerned officials  through protest day from 06.04.2021 by submitting memorandum to  the Hon. Prime Minister / Chairman CBT at all the EPFO ​​offices in the country.

 * You all are aware that all the teams of our organization are working effectively on their own front and today is 869 th Day of Chain hunger strike at NAC,HQ Buldhana in front of the Collector office.

 You all are also aware that the corona epidemic came from only  last year but as far  our pensioners are concerned, the EPS 95 pension epidemic had already been started for the last several years.  in all these innumerable years our pensioner colleagues are dieing at the rate of around 5000 per month. In CORONA  this rate has been increased many folds.

 * In view of the tremendous anger about the cruel  EPFO ​​among all the EPS 95 members and the increasing death rate of our pensioners, a target has been set to fulfill all our four major demands on  or before the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament.

  In order to achieve this  goal, all the members and all the leaders are requested to pay special attention to the following points/NAC's Agitational movement by keeping yourself,your friends and your family 

safe from CORONA:-

1.  Convey our strong feelings about EPS pension through social media / electronic media (WhatsApp, Twitter, E-mail, SMS, phone contact etc.) effectively to the  Hon.Prime Minister, Finance Minister, Labor Minister, MPs,CBT members  from your respective regions.

According to out previous General Contact Campaign Programme , the leaders who were given this responsibility must complete this campaign  till the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament under the guidance of the Chief Coordinator  / State President of the  respective regions.

 2. Formation of Tehsil level  organizations  of all the states be completed by 31.05.2021.

3. One Day fast be observed by all the EPS 95 Pensioners from Home on Dtd.01.06.2021 in the memories of our Great Members who passed away and also to remind the Hon.Prime minister once again  to fulfill our Demanda as per his assurances given on Dtd.04.03.2020*.

Finally , Please be remain  safe, be aware of the socio-political situation in the country and organize your respective area to achieve the  final goal.

 Please remember that you are the representatives  of all the 67 lakh poor, helpless members of EPS95.  We all need to be the ground level activists. Mind you, many of our members do not even have ordinary phones, we cannot even contact them directly due to this corona epidemic.

1. अपने अपने घर से ही सम्पर्क अभियान.

  2 सभी राज्यों में तहसील स्तर के संगठन का गठन 

3. दिनांक 1 जून 2021 को एक दिन का देश व्यापी उपवास कार्यक्रम

आदरणीय भाइयों एवं बहनों,

आपको विदित ही है कि हमारी मांगों को सरकार द्वारा पिछले अधिवेशन/बजट सत्र में  मंजूर करने के संकेत हमें मिल रहे थे लेकिन कोरोना महामारी के चलते व EPFO के अन्यायपूर्ण व्यवहार के कारण इसमें रुकावटें आई है ऐसा स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई पड़ रहा है.

*हम पेंशनर्स की आवाज को व सत्य तत्थ्यों को सरकार तक तथा संबंधितों तक पहुंचाने का कार्य आप सभी,हमारे नेताओं ने दिनांक 06.04.2021 से विरोध दिवस के माध्यम से देश के सभी ईपीएफओ कार्यालयों पर मा. प्रधानमंत्री जी/मा.अध्यक्ष सीबीटी के नाम  निवेदन देकर संपन्न किया है.

*आप सभी को विदित ही है कि हमारे संगठन की सभी टीमें अपने अपने मोर्चे पर प्रभावशाली रीति से काम रही हैं व NAC के मुख्यालय, बुलढाणा महाराष्ट्र में क्रमिक अनशन का आज 869 वा दिन है.

आप सभी को यह भी विदित है कि कोरोना की महामारी तो पिछले वर्ष से आई लेकिन हमारे पेंशनर्स में तो इपीएस 95 पेंशन महामारी पिछले कई सालों से शुरू है जिसमें प्रति माह लगभग 5000 की दर से हमारे पेंशनर्स भाई बहन  संसार से बिदा होते जा रहे थे व अब कोरोना महामारी आने के कारण मृत्युदर और अधिक बढ़ गई है.

* सभी सदस्यों में ईपीएफओ के प्रति रोष व पेंशनर्स भाई बहनों की बढ़ती हुई मृत्युदर  को देखते हुए , किसी भी हालत में आने वाले मानसून अधिवेशन में या उसके पहले हमारी  चार प्रमुख मांगों को पूर्ण करवाने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है

 लक्ष्य प्राप्ति के लिए सभी सदस्य व सभी नेताओं से निवेदन है कि स्वयं को व अपने परिजनों को सुरक्षित रखते हुए  कृपया निम्नलिखत बिंदुओं |

NAC के इस आंदोलन कार्यक्रम पर विशेष ध्यान दीजिए 

1.सोशल मीडिया /इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया के माध्यम से (व्हाट्सएप, ट्विटर, ई मेल, एसएमएस, फोन से संपर्क आदि) अपनी आवाज को प्रभावशाली ढंग से मा.प्रधानमंत्री, मा.वित्त मंत्री, मा.श्रम मंत्री, अपने अपने क्षेत्र के मा.सांसद व सीबीटी सदस्यों तक पहुंचाने का कार्यक्रम.

पिछले महासंपर्क अभियान के अनुसार जिन नेताओं को जो जवाबदारी दी गई थी उसी के अनुसार इस अभियान को संसद के मान्सून सत्र के शुरू होने के पहले तक अपने अपने क्षेत्र के मुख्य  समन्वयक/प्रांतीय अध्यक्ष के मार्गदर्शन में पूर्ण किया जाए

2.दिनांक 31.05.2021 तक सभी राज्यों के तहसील स्तर के संगठन का गठन करना.

3. जो महान सदस्य हमें छोड़कर संसार से बिदा हो गए उनकी स्मृति में व मा. प्रधानमंत्री जी द्वारा दिनांक 04.03.2020 को पेंशनर्स की मांगों को पूर्ण करने हेतु, दिए गए वचन पूर्ति की एक बार फिर से  याद दिलाने के लिए दिनांक 01.06.2021 को सभी ईपीएस 95 द्वारा अपने अपने घर से देश व्यापी उपवास कार्यक्रम.

कृपया सुरक्षित रहिए,लक्ष्य प्राप्ति के लिए जागरूक रहिए व संगठित रहिए.

कृपया याद रहे कि आप सभी उन सदस्यों के प्रतिनिधि हैं, जो हमारे संगठन के ग्राउंड स्तर के कार्यकर्ता भाई बहन है व  जिनके पास तो साधारण फोन भी नहीं हैं ,इस कोरोना महामारी के चलते हम उनसे प्रत्यक्ष संपर्क भी नहीं कर सकते हैं.

नमस्कार

सभी पेंशनर साथियो से निवेदन है की प्रायः देखते मे आता है की हम अपने सेवा मे बिभिन्न ट्रेड यूनियन से जुड़े रहे है या राजनैतिक पार्टियों से सम्बद्ध थे ,आज हम उस बिचारधारा को छोड़ नहीं पर रहे है, और ग्रुप मे लोगो के ऊपर अपनी बिचारधारा को थोपने का प्रयास करते है, आज अगर हमारी पेंशन की मांग ट्रेड यूनियन या राजनैतिक पार्टियों के द्वारा उठायी गयी होती या समर्थन दिया गया होता तो आज हम लाचार नहीं होते! हम आज सभी बिचारधारा के ट्रेड यूनियन किसी न किसी राजनैतिक पार्टी से अपने लाभ के लिए सम्बद्ध है!

*आज हम इन राजनैतिक पार्टियों के बिचारधारा से ही परेशान होकर अराजनैतिक मंच के द्वारा माननीय कमांडर श्री अशोक राउत जी,राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष,राष्ट्रीय संघर्ष समिति का गठन कर अपने बृद्ध असहाय साथियो की जो आज रोटी के लिए मोहताज  होकर इस मंच से अपनी पेंशन की लड़ाई को लड़ रहे है या लड़ने का प्रयास कर रहे है, और आप उनको नेतृत्व दे रहे है, आप सभीको से अनुरोध है की इस संगठन पर आप अपने राजनैतिक महत्त्वकांछा को दरकिनार कर सिर्फ ग्रुप मे सिर्फ बृद्ध पेंशनर के ही हित की बात करें और यह दिमांग मे बिलकुल न रखे की कोई भी राजनैतिक पार्टी आपको किसी प्रकार का सहयोग करेंगी,*

*आपको अपनी लड़ाई खुद लड़नी पड़ेगी, आपके पास सक्छम नेतृत्व है जो आज संगठन का बिस्तर 27 राज्यों मे दे चूका है सिर्फ आपको उनके निर्देश का पालन करना है और सफल होना है*

Respected Sir,               

With reference on the cited above subject it is too true no doubt sir, that the EPS-95 pension scheme is itself funded with the contribution of 8.33% of employer and 1.16 %  of the Central Government.,at that time there was  no ceiling on monthly pay .Now a days there  is Rs 5000/-,6500/ and 15000/,payment ceiling Supreme  court had also been taken a note about it. However , it should not be forgotten that this is a welfare scheme of the Government of India.  

 Majority employees and trade unions had opposed this scheme and there were near about 34 to 35  Writ petitions  in the Courts.   Government of India and EPFO advertised in the newspapers  that Said  scheme is better than the pension scheme of the Government. It was a full page advertisement in the newspapers  in this regards.( January 1996 ). Government and EPFO pleaded in the Supreme court that this is a very beneficial and welfare scheme of the Government and it is in view to provide social and economical benefits compared with illustration  as a social security in old age and consequently and Supreme court allowed the said scheme (  M/s Otis Elevator employees Union case decided in 2003),that’s  why we humble request for increasing minimum pension sir,It is our fundamental Rights and main duty of Epfo to protect the

constitutional benefits of coustmer and founders.

 As per your assertion , the pension fund is in deficit since 2000 therefore  said pension  is not increased since last 21 years. We are humbly requested to you that give a single name of any  other Pension scheme in case  of which pension is not increased from last 21 years, When the scheme was introduced and released under social security act sir.  You are also required to mention what  corrective actions are taken by the EPFO in this regard under para 32 of scheme , since 2000.

In our opinion , deficit is not our lookout sir, we the employees  employers and government are the contributors as directed by Epfo in the pension fund . There were so-many lacunae in it ,like due to improper management of the fund , not proper investment , corruption by the official of EPFO,  misappropriation by the official of EPFO and inefficiency of the EPFO.all these points discussed in Standing Committees many times as per our knowledge after that  .Bhagatsing Koshiyari committee had also submitted for further quick actions in the year 2014. Why Epfo had not pressurised  to Government for the bettered  lives with social security aspects as per our original scheme (eps 95 ) ???

EPFO fund is owned by the employees and pensioners . The owners are getting meagre pension  700-800 Rs where as the EPFO fund employee pensioners are getting pension of the Central Government that too from the fund. EPS 95 pensioners are dying for want of food and medicine and employees of EPFO are getting  Rs. 2000/- as medical allowance. This is very unfair sir we think.

Hugs ammount of the  Fund is being used for the Court Cases in the High Courts accross the Country and in the Supreme court  for the fault and mistakes of the EPFO officers. This type unnecessary expenses  have also contributed to the loss of the Fund EPFO is fully sir, this is my humble submission with honour .We only the social and constitutional  beneficiaries. of Government.We hopefully request that  you may not to  think to put the reasons of funds.Since last 21 years same reply had been submitted by hon’ble Epfo through government . It our constitutional fundamental Rights sir.near about 7 lakhs pensioners are died without taking social security benefits .

Copy for information about replied D.O.letter of addressed to I.L.O,Chair Man by EPFO.Said reply is not a new for us sir, repeat it again and again so many  times sir, therefore  we again humbly requested to hon'ble Chair Man International labour organisation and Central Government  for needful and to save the died rates of EPS 95 Pensioners with immediate effect,7 lakhs died, rates is too high sir.we hope from  I.L.O. and Government will save our lives.

You may probably not be knowing that DA relief on EPS'95 pension had been given by EPFO @ 4%, 5.5%, 4% & 4% during 1996-97, 1997-1998, 1998-99 & 1999-2000 respectively as the valuations had showed surplus. But such a decision has not been taken subsequently despite surplus in valuations.

 प्रेस नोट: -

 हम सभी देश के वरिष्ठ नागरिक, ईपीएस 95 पेंशनर हैं.

 भारत के 65 लाख ईपीएस 95 पेंशनर्स जिन्होंने रु.  417 / -, रु 541 / - और रु.1250/-  प्रति माह  30 से 35 वर्ष के सेवाकाल में पेंशन फंड में जमा करवाए, जिसका आज का मूल्य रु. 15 से 20 लाख है, वह सामाजिक सुरक्षा के लिए केवल 500 से 3000 रुपये पेंशन प्राप्त कर रहे हैं।

 दो वृद्ध लोगों के लिए इस राशि में सम्मानपूर्वक रहना बिल्कुल असंभव है।

 दिनांक  7.01.1996 को ईपीएफओ ने एक अधिकृत विज्ञापन प्रकाशित किया था जिसमें कहा गया था कि ईपीएस 95 पेंशन सरकारी पेंशन से 10% या अधिक लाभदायक होगी।  साथ ही ईपीएफओ ने हर तीन साल या उससे पहले मूल्य सूचकांक के साथ पेंशन का मूल्यांकन करने का वादा किया था. तब वादा किया गया था कि कर्मचारियों की पूंजी उनकी मृत्यु के बाद उनके नॉमिनी को वापस कर दी जाएगी.  हालांकि, ईपीएफओ द्वारा किसी भी वादे का पालन नहीं किया गया.

 2008 में एकतरफा रूप से पूंजी पर प्रतिलाभ वापस ले लिया गया. 2014 में उन्होंने पेंशन की गणना के आधार 12 महिने औसत वेतन को 60 महीने के औसत वेतन में बदल दिया, जिससे पेंशन की राशि कम हो गई. 

न्यूनतम पेंशन के मुद्दे पर वर्ष 2013 में भगतसिंह कोशियारी समिति की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार 3000 या उससे अधिक व उसे मंहगाई से जोड़ने की शिफारिस की.हालांकि, इस संबंध में कुछ भी लागू नहीं किया गया है।

 वर्ष 2014 में माननीय प्रधान मंत्री ने न्यूनतम पेंशन रु 1000 /- की घोषणा की लेकिन  अधिकांश पेंशनर्स अभी भी उस के लाभ से वंचित हैं.

 EPFO लगातार EPS95 पेंशनरों पर अन्याय कर रहा है।

 दिनांक  4.10.2016 के निर्णय में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय ने वास्तविक वेतन पर उच्च पेंशन देने का आदेश दिया. EPFO ने भी इस फैसले को स्वीकार कर लिया था और एक परिपत्र दिनांक 23.3.2017 को जारी किया लेकिन  एक 'यू' मोड़ लेते हुए, उन्होंने दिनांक 31.5.2017 को एक अंतरिम एडवाइज़री जारी की, जिसमें पेंशन पाने वाले तथाकथित Exempted संस्थानों के  पेंशनभोगियों को अदालत में जाने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया.

 इस अन्याय से लड़ने के लिए देश भर के ईपीएस के 95 पेंशनरों ने कमांडर अशोक राऊत के नेतृत्व में "राष्ट्रीय संघर्ष समिति" के नाम से एक संगठन बनाया है.

 देश के 27 राज्यों में संगठन सक्रिय है.

 इस अन्याय से लड़ने के लिए NAC  ने एड़ी से चोटी तक जोर लगाया, दिल्ली में बड़े बड़े मोर्चो और धरना सहित पूरे देश में हजारों आंदोलन किए.

NAC नेताओं ने 4 मार्च 2020 को माननीय प्रधान मंत्री से मुलाकात की. मा. प्रधानमंत्री जी  ने NAC नेताओं को युद्धस्तर पर इस मुद्दे को हल करने का आश्वासन दिया.

 तब से एक साल से अधिक समय बीत चुका है लेकिन कुछ नहीं हुआ.इसलिए, वृद्ध पेंशनरों और उनके परिवार में जबरदस्त गुस्सा / नाराजगी देखी जा रही है.

 असहाय वरिष्ठ नागरिक बड़ी उम्मीद के साथ मा. प्रधानमंत्री की ओर देख रहे हैं क्योंकि निर्णय उनके जीवन को गरिमा के साथ प्रभावित करेगा.

 इसलिए, NAC ने उत्तर, दक्षिण, पूर्व और पश्चिम भारत में  क्षेत्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित करने का निर्णय लिया है.

 पश्चिम क्षेत्र का सम्मेलन दिनांक 19 मार्च  2021 को चोटीला (गुजरात)  में होने जा रहा है.

 इस मेगा इवेंट में महाराष्ट्र, गोवा व गुजरात राज्यों के पेंशनर्स भाग लेंगे.

 हमारी मांगें इस प्रकार हैं: -

 1. न्यूनतम मासिक पेंशन रु .7500 व उस पर मंहगाई भत्ता दिया जाए.

 2. ईपीएफओ की दिनांक 31 मई 2017 की Interim Advisory को वापिस लिया जाए व EPS 95 पेंशनरों को मा. सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के आदेश के अनुसार उच्च पेंशन का विकल्प दिया जाए.

 3. आयुष्मान भारत योजना के तहत सभी ईपीएस 95 पेंशनरों और उनके जीवन साथी को मुफ्त चिकित्सा सुविधा प्रदान की जाए.

 4.ईपीएस 95 सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारी जो ईपीएस 95 योजना के सदस्य नहीं हैं, उन्हें ब्याज के साथ योगदान की वसूली करके और उन्हें उचित बकाया राशि की अनुमति देकर पूर्व पोस्ट सदस्यता की अनुमति दी जानी चाहिए अन्यथा उन्हें पेंशन के रूप में रु. 5000 / - प्रति माह निर्धारित किया जा सकता है.

The Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana after consulting with the members of the Bar has agreed to advance the summer vacation of the top court by one week in view of the COVID-19 situation in the capital.
The summer break is likely to star on May 8 and continue till June 27 with the Court reopening on June 28.
The decision was taken after an emergency meeting was held by the CJI with the representatives of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA) and Bar Council of India.

The CJI also gave his nod to provide a suitable area for establishing medical facilities for at least 60 beds and other facilities like RT-PCR tests, COVID-19 vaccination etc.

As per SCBA President Vikas Singh, after CJI gave the nod for using the advocates chamber block as COVID care unit.

Tehsildar, Chanakyapuri was briefed to make arrangements so that the building could be inspected for use.

Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) had earlier written to the CJI to convert the newly constructed advocates chamber building at Appu Ghar complex to a COVID-19 care centre for the benefit of lawyers, court staff and their families who are COVID positive.

SCBA had pointed out that the second wave of COVID-19 is set to reach its peak by mid May and that Delhi government has extended its lockdown till May 1. In view of the same, the suggestion was also made to advance the summer vacation.

The letter also stated that if the vacant lawyers chamber block in the new premises is allocated to be used as a COVID care centre, then a request can be made to State government to take over the same.

The facility can be used by members of SCBA and their families and the registry and staff of the Supreme Court and their families, it was suggested.
