Demand for single pension for all government and private employees

Nagpur: The state employees have called a strike from March 14 to demand the old pension scheme. Although their demand for pension is right, pension is not only a matter for government employees but also for those working in the private sector. As per the 1952 Act, the rules regarding pension are same for all. Pension amount is given to government employees by the government and to private employees by the respective private employer. In 2013, the Bhagat Singh Koshyari Committee discussed this. Therefore, there is no discrimination between government and private in pension

Prakash Pathak, National General Secretary of Retired Employees' Association (1995) expressed his opinion while talking to 'Punya Nagri' that one pension should be applied to all.

The Koshyari Committee had submitted its report in 2013 regarding pension. It has been discussed about pension. For the past ten years, the struggle has been going on for the demand of implementation of the Koshyari Committee report on behalf of the Retired Employees Association. Many labor ministers have been appointed, meetings have been held in Hyderabad, Guwahati, Delhi etc., but the government has not yet made a proper announcement. Statements have also been given to all the MPs in the country in this regard. now

There is a need to make a law in the Parliament in this regard. The recommendation of the Koshyari Committee is that the old pension scheme should be implemented. Implementation of Dearness Allowance can solve many problems related to the pension of pensioners. The downside of the old pension scheme is dearness allowance. There is a demand for at least nine thousand more dearness allowance to the private sector employees working in various sectors. While applying the old pension scheme to the government employees, the private employed class should also be considered. Prakash Pathak said that private employees are also human beings. Pathak also pointed out that the government's next policy will be privatization.
