 Special meeting of CBT to increase in Minimum Pension Rs.7500+DA

*  The National President of NAC, Commander Ashok Raut ji sent the National General Secretary and National Secretary to Delhi for discussion on the burning issues related to EPS 95 pensioners with the CPFC Madam.

*As per the instructions of Honorable CPFC Madam, the NAC delegation had detail discussions  with the  senior officers of the Pension Department of EPFO ​​Headquarters, Honorable Shri Animesh Mishra, Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (Pension) and Smt. Aparajita Jaggi, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner 1 (Pension), EPFO ​​office Delhi. 

* Separate meetings and discussions were held with both the senior officials of EPFO.

Discussion in the meeting was held  on the  specific issues of the  letter dated 26.09.2023.

★ Consent shown on the following issues:-

1.  Extending the deadline for giving approval on the Joint Option Form pending with the employer for higher pension benefits. This deadline is expiring on 30.09.2023. It should be extended to 15.10.2023 and within this time limit, the Joint Option Form should be submitted to the EPF office. Clear guidelines shall be issued for sending the Joint option form.  On this demand of NAC,this period will be extended for more than 15 days, this was clearly told to the NAC delegation.


2 * After determining the specific time limit, interest should not be charged on the amount recovered through EPS 95 and if interest is charged for special reasons, then the amount given by EPFO ​​should also be paid along with interest. This demand by NAC has has been principally accepted. 

3. * The demand that widows/widowers should also be provided the facility of higher pension benefits was considered positivelly. 

4. Unilateral action is being taken by the EPF offices regarding the amount to be deposited by pensioners for higher pension benefits, but

Pensioners also need to be told how much pension will be received by the EPF office, how many arrears will be given and by when.

 The Reply  on this demand was that the process on this issue has already been started


* In the context of increase in minimum pension, the issue of recommending Rs.7500+DA by calling a special meeting of CBT was discussed in detail. On this, it was told to the NAC delegation that CPFC madam herself has already discussed this issue in detail with you people(NAC) that the EPFO is working on minimum pension increase and medical facilities. Actuary report and annual report were also discussed, then the delegation was told that now two actuaries are working on the demand of NAC.

Clear negative attitude regarding book adjustment. During the discussion on NAC's demand that book adjustment should be made of the amount deposited by pensioners to get higher pension and the amount of arrears of higher pension received by pensioners.  It was made clear to the NAC delegation that a decision has been taken not to make book adjustment and before taking this decision the documents presented by NAC have been considered. Giving more information on this topic, the NAC delegation was told that *The member will be eligible for higher pension only after depositing the full contribution on the actual salary, hence book adjustment cannot be done     On further argument on this topic from the NAC delegation, it was said that NAC should present more documents including facts and proof.

* Regarding the  higher pension benefits on actual salary without discrimination (before 01.09.2014 and after 01.09.2014), the NAC delegation was told that our office is already cooperating in this regard. In this context, NAC continues to communicate with the Labor Ministry and the Prime Minister's Office. Whatever guidelines come, they will be implemented


In the end, the NAC delegation raised the issue of data mismatch, on which it was told that all the offices of EPFO ​​are and will cooperate with EPS 95 pensioners on this issue. 

* National General Secretary Shri Virendra Singh Rajawat, National Secretary Shri Ramesh Bahuguna and Delhi State leader Rajinder Singh Chhetri were present in the NAC delegation and participated in the discussion.


It may be noted that the Honorable NAC Chief had also tried to organize a meeting of the NAC delegation with the Honorable Labor Secretary Madam, but the meeting could not take place as the Labor Secretary was out of the Headquarters, hence the NAC delegation could not hold a meeting at her office in Delhi, Shram Shakti Bhawan. However the  memorandum was given.
