 Relevant Extracts from the Report 123. There was a proposal to enhance the minimum pension of Rs. 1,000 per month to Rs. 2,000/3,000 per month under EPS, 1995. However, additional allocations on this count have not been proposed in BE 2022-23. When enquired about the present status in this regard, the Ministry replied as under: - 

“The Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995 is a ‘Defined Contribution Defined Benefit’ Social Security Scheme. There is a pooled account for providing pension under EPS consisting of

 (i) contribution by the employer @ 8.33 per cent of wages; and (ii) contribution from Central Government through budgetary support @ 1.16 per cent of wages, up to an amount of Rs.15,000/- per month. Amount of member’s pension under the Scheme is determined taking into account the pensionable period of service and pensionable salary as per following formula: 

Pensionable Service X Pensionable Salary 70 It is evident that the amount of pension is based on a predefined formula. However, the Government, for the first time, provided a minimum pension of Rs. 1000 per month to the pensioners under EPS, 1995 from 01.09.2014 by providing additional budgetary support wherever the pension was falling short as per above determined formula. Representations have been received from individual pensioners as well as pensioners associations to increase the minimum pension under the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995.

 Therefore, Ministry constituted a High-Empowered Monitoring Committee for complete evaluation and review of the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 on 04.01.2018. The Committee had submitted its report on 21.12.2018 to the Government. The Committee had, inter-alia, recommended that minimum monthly member pension payable to the member /widow/ widower pensioners may be raised to at least Rs.2000 per month, provided the Central Government budgetary support is provided for the same on yearly basis.

EPS 95 pensioners are eagerly waiting enhanced pension on actual salary / minimum pension  rs 7500/- +DA with other facilities . It is requested in the meeting of FCI retirees association to associate all associations in a single platform for atleast one single objective ie minimum pension Rs 7500/- +DA . 

It is suggested in the meeting that all associations at all india level be unite  and fight for minimum pension by do or die efforts . The only remedy is holding the same platform by all mushrooming asso since benefit is the joint venture for all and can not be given to individual asso . It is requested to pursue all asso loosing individual interest and watching the interest of 65 lakh pensioners @ NAC top leadership .

 The 230th meeting of Central Board of Trustees, EPF was held today during the AKAM Iconic Week in Guwahati under the Chairmanship of Shri Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Vice-Chairmanship of Shri Rameshwar Teli, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Petroleum & Natural Gas and Co-Chairmanship of Shri Sunil Barthwal, Secretary Labour & Employment and the Member Secretary Smt. • The board ratified the extension of tenure of External Concurrent Auditor, Custodian, and the tenure of SBI MF & UTI MF as ETF manufacturers till 31.03.2022 or till appointments are made whichever is earlier.

 News Detail :-

 Under the guidance of Hon  NAC Chief Commander Ashok Raut ji, the responsibility of both the programs was handed over to two different leaders by the Chief Coordinator of East India, Shri Tapan Dutta.

 According  both the programs were completed effectively.

 1   The memorandum in the name of Chairman CBT was accepted by the Add PF Commissioner Jagmohan ji, who specially came from Delhi EPF office by

Shri  Ganesh ji  Deka, State  President, Assam at the CBT meeting place.

 * NAC delegation led by Shri Ganesh Deka, President Assam, Shri Piyush Chakraborty,President Silchar, Shri Pankaj Das Gupta, General Secretary West Bengal submitted memorandums to CBT members Shri Harbhajan Singh and Shri Dilip Bhattacharya ji etc. and discussed various issues  with them.

 *CBT members assured all help to the delegation.

This task force will include members from PFRDA, LIC, VVGNLI, two independent actuaries, chief investment officers of some reputed investment firms/mutual fund houses, financial or any other expert.

दिनांक 11.03.2022 को गुवाहाटी आसाम में CBT मीटिंग स्थान पर EPF कार्यालय पर मौन/विरोध कार्यक्रम संपन्न होगा.संगठन शक्ति के बल पर हम जरूर सफल ऐसा विश्वास व्यक्त करते हुए उन्होंने हम सभी की शुभचिंतक मा.श्रीमती हेमा  मालिनी का आभार भी  व्यक्त  करते हुए निकट भविष्य में आवश्यकता पड़ने पर किसी भी आंदोलन के लिए तैयार रहने की अपील की.

मा. क्षेत्रीय भविष्य निधि आयुक्त - जगदीश तांबे जी ने प्रतिनिधि मंडल को आमंत्रित कर विशेष चर्चा की. मा. NAC चीफ़ ने पेंशनर्स की मुख्य  मांगों सहित औरंगाबाद कार्यालय से संबंधित लोकल समस्याओं की भी चर्चा की. मा. श्री तांबे जी ने उनके कार्यालय से संबंधित समस्याओं के निराकरण हेतु पूर्ण आश्वासन दिया व धरना/पेंशनर्स की मांगों से संबंधित ज्ञापन को शिफारिस सहित  भेजने का आश्वासन दिया.
